A Byzantine bronze panther figure Small panther figure. The animal is lying on a rectangular plate, its tail turned up on its back, with an open mouth. The back and the front legs decorated with fishbone-like incised ornaments. Below the plate two rectangular fixing pins. Surface uniformly corroded. With beautiful green patina. Intact. Length 8.8 cm Provenance: Southern German private collection. Condition: II - Vollplastischer Bronzeaufsatz in Form eines Panthers, byzantinisch Kleine vollplastische Pantherfigur aus Bronze. Das Tier liegt auf einer schmalen, langrechteckigen Platte, der Schwanz auf den Rücken hochgeschlagen, das Maul offen. Auf dem Rücken und den Vorderläufen fischgrätenartige Ritzdekoration. Unterhalb der Platte zwei Befestigungsstifte. Oberfläche einheitlich korrodiert mit schöner grüner Patina. Intakt. Länge 8,8 cm. Provenienz: Aus süddeutscher Privatsammlung. Zustand: II -
