An eastern European Varagian chape, 10th century Excellently preserved tinned bronze chape. Lily-shaped decoration on front and back. Minimal old hole above the tip. Length 9.4 cm. Provenance: Southern German private collection. Condition: II Ortband, warägisch, Osteuropa, 10. Jhdt. Vorzüglich erhaltenes Ortband aus Zinnbronze. Mit verstärkten oberen Rand.
