Dimensions: 13-1/2" H x 8-1/2" Dia. Chinese Qing Dynasty period, Blue clouds & red dragon meiping jar. The porcelain shaped into a traditional Meiping form, large, thick and tall potted, wide body on shoulder, slender neck easing to form narrow opening, with emerging slight flaring ring mouth rim, raised on round foot base, with slight concave. The exterior decorated with hand-painting in clean white under glazed base color which contrast against the blue and red fine color, depicted of snarling huge imperial five claws dragon careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-shui waves in a red color dragon squama to chasing flaming pearl amidst flames and scrolling interlocking vapors on the collar. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. Mark on base, a six under glazed blue seal script characters reign mark, Made in The Years of QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
