Japan, late Muromachi (1333-1573) to early Edo period (1615-1868) A thirty-two-plate iron sujibachi kabuto (ridged helmet) with four-tiered lacquered shikoro and leather mae-zashi, the gilt-lacquered wood maedate (forecrest) shows the tsuru no maru crest symbol. HEIGHT 20 cm Condition: Worn condition, crackling and losses to the lacquer. Generally, very well preserved. Provenance: Hungarian private collection.
