Pre-Dynastic Period, 4th-3rd millennium BC. A squat turned black and white diorite jar with rounded base, raised rim to the mouth, two lateral tubular handles. From a Hong Kong family collection since the early 1980s; previously in a Hong Kong collection since 1973; accompanied by a scholarly note TL5349 by Dr Ronald Bonewitz; this lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by AIAD certificate number no. 10565-171595.
