Late 4th-early 3rd millennium BC. A jasper cylinder seal with figure group; accompanied by a museum-quality impression and typed and signed scholarly note issued by W.G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham, 1970-1993, which states: 'Cylinder Seal of Black Stone 13 x 12 mm. The design shows three women with long plaits of hair squatting on the ground and raising their hands, two together, one separated by two pots with handles and two crabs or other water creatures. This comes from Sumer, the Diyale Valley or south-west Iran and dates to c. 3000 B.C. It is small but in fine condition. the women were workers in temple workshops.' 3.69 grams, 12mm (1/2").
