A pair of painted wooden panels comprising: a thin panel with a heavenly being or bodhisattva holding an open lotus flower, aureole behind, crowned and standing on a lotus podium, wearing elaborate jewellery and layered robes and ribbons; a thick panel with a lady or heavenly maiden wearing a crown and blue voluminous robe, hands held together and partly concealed by the large sleeves, possibly a form of Kwan Yin or heavenly maiden of Taoist tradition. 754 grams total, 42.5cm each (16 3/4").
