LEONARD WELLS VOLK (AMERICAN 1828-1895) CARRARA MARBLE BUST + PEDESTAL, H 25", W 22", JAMES A. GARFIELD An 1889 carved Carrara marble bust depicting James Abram Garfield (1831-1881). This piece was sculpted eight years after Garfield's death. Artist's signature ("L.W. Volk. Sc.") and date ("1889") to the backside. Depth 12". Accompanied with a green marble top Henredon pedestal, measuring H 26" x DIA 18".
