ca. 1800 - 1900 AD Islamic. Beautiful flat Islamic silvered bronze bowl. The decoration, which covers the whole of the outer surface, consists of a floral band and geometric patterns. The bottom of the inside of the bowl bears a particularly interesting motif made up of a series of geometric patterns. Similar bowls can be found all over the Islamic world and were used for different purposes. Sometimes in the mosque as a bowl for traditional food to eat in the mosque or for washing in the hammam.
