A BRONZE INKWELL AND LETTER OPENER BY FRIEDRICH GORNIK (AUSTRIAN 1877-1943), 1895-1925 the inkwell formed as a lion and lioness walking next to one another on a rocky terrain, accompanied by a conforming letter opener featuring a lion's head, both signed and marked with Arthur Rubinstein foundry mark; dimensions of inkwell: 15 x 47 cm (5 7/8 x 18 1/2 in.), length of letter opener: 23 cm (9 in.) CONDITION In age-appropriate condition. Darkening between cervasses of lion and ink well. Overall dust, most notably under the lions. Patina has occurred on the interior of the inkwell, on the lion's face, mane and mouth and on the mane of the lion's head on the letter opener, darkening between the crevasses around the lion's mane of the letter opener. Light surface scratches and scuffs to the letter opener as well as some darkening spots on the right side below the signature. Otherwise no other issues to report. N.B.
