Bronze with silver and copper inlaysTibet , 15th centuryDimensions: Height 22 cm by 15 cm Weight: 889,1 gramsHe is one of the five meditation Buddhas and here represented seated cross-legged on a double reverse lotus base with beaded rims. The hand gesture is distinctive for Ratnasambhava Buddha, the right hand showing the varada mudra, a gesture of generosity and patience. The other hand is resting in his lap with the palm facing to the sky. His eyes are downcast and the lips almost grinning. His body is dressed in a long dhoti with decorative brim, a billowing scarf surrounds him. Beautiful jewellery with stone inlay adorns his body and a five-pointed tiara encloses his chignon. The back of the statue is simple with less details.
