PORCELAIN DYING LION, MID 19TH CENTURY, H 7.25" W 6.75" L 9" An 18th century Meissen figure of a dying lion, lying on rocks tinted in mauves and applied with green foliage, the rocaille to the front with gilt details, crossed swords and incised K to the reverse edge, 18cm (7 in) high (R). With crossed sword on underside having highlighted pommels. Modeled on a naturalistic dead lion prostrate across a gilt highlighted scroll and cragged rock base.
