A Chinese Longquan celadon pierced tripod incense burner, Ming Dynasty Later converted to an inkwell, of slightly tapering cylindrical form, moulded and carved with three lotus flowerheads against a pierced scrolling foliate ground, raised on three short feet and covered in a pale green glaze, a later bronze cover with hinged top surmounted by a seated chinaman, opening to a plain glass liner, 10.5cm high (feet chipped). Footnote: Footnote: A very similar incense burner was offered in Bonhams New Bond Street rooms, 8 November 2004, lot 98. Condition report: Two of the three feet are chipped. The glass inkwell liner is chipped to the rim.
