Dimensions: Height: 44 cm, Diam.: 40.5 cm Chinese Ming Dynasty FaHua Glazed Cranes Motif Porcelain Jar. This porcelain has an round open mouth with a slightly out-turned lip, short thick neck leads to a convex bulging mid belly with a shr ink bottom, raised on the round foot base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in deep black base color which contrast against FaHua design color, depicted of flying cranes over flowers blooms, foliage and bellow scrolling ruyi and auspicious ornament. Fahua color glaze porcelain The name of a glaze color of porcelain, a kind of new variety developed on the basis of making of colored glaze. It was first created in Yuan Dynasty, and prevailed in areas of south Shanxi in Ming Dynasty. The glaze is lustrous and glittering, giving a sense of fresh and bright. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
