A George III inlaid mahogany linen press, the ogee and dentil cornice above an inlaid frieze, the twin panelled doors with reeded beading and marquetry amphora vases, enclosing a plain interior with five slides, the base with two short over two long cock-beaded and inlaid drawers, raised on splayed feet with shaped apron between, 128cm wide x 59cm deep x 215cm high. Condition report: Small losses to dentil moulding on cornice. 20cm section of reeding missing from left door. Small section of veneer patched at the top corner of the left door. Lock missing to right door. Base has small losses to veneer on front rails. Losses to cock beading on both long drawers. All drawer handles and escutheons are later replacements (originally the piece would have been fitted with turned wood handles). Handles on bottom drawer lacking drop bars. Moulding on the right side of base top needs re-seating. Further general cosmetic marks throughout consistent with age and use - not disfiguring.
