A George III mahogany veneered chest of drawers, with a moulded rectangular top above two short and three long, graduated and cock-beaded drawers, probably with the original reeded brass handles, on elegant splayed bracket feet, some damage, 114cm wide x 57cm deep x 93.5cm high Condition report: Top with ring marks and water stains. Lacking 35.5cm of moulding on left return of top. Front faded. Losses, including sections of bracket feet, including 6cm vertical piece of back right foot, wall-side. Also, lacking sections above top two short drawers and middle long drawer above locks, largest 7cm x 0.5cm. Chips including all feet and some edges (including back left side and back edge of top). Lacking one handle and one lock. Lacking sections of cock-beads on every drawer, except the top right short drawer with 3cm chip on lower left. Left short drawer lacking 3cm of top left. 1st long drawer with chipped cock-beads and lacking both of verticals.2nd long drawer lacking 3cm of right vertical and 5cm of lower horizontal. Lower drawer lacking 5cm and 9cm of vertical cock-beads ans small sections on lower horizontal. Despite damage – overall a nice chest and with a nicely figured front and top.
