He came to prominence in the UK's "swinging sixties" as a pioneer of the bark finish on his pieces. He sold to many celebrities, including The Beatles, Tom Jones and various Saudi princes. He is known for creating the bark finish wedding ring that George Harrison gave to Patti Boyd in their 1966 wedding. The present example uses an English-made bark finish case, with a matching integrated bracelet and a lapis dial.
