PROVENANCE: From Audubon, New Orleans Private Collector. Dimensions: Heigth: 4.8 cm, Diameter: 9 cm Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty DaoGuang Red Fish Porcelain Bowls. The porcelain potted with a shallow body, slight deep, thick, flaring rim with angled cavetto elevated the steep sides upward the close mouth rim, raised on ring foot base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white base color which contrast against red fine color, depicted of six big carp surround the surface. The Carp Similar sounding to the word Business in Chinese, the carp symbolizes a wish for benefit or advantage in business, and accepted to represent longevity, wealth, abundance, and perseverance. The Under base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed red script characters reign mark. Made in The Years YongZheng Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
