Dimensions: Height: 23.5cm, Diam: 13cm Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Qianlong mile fleur porcelain double gourds bottle. Potted in a shape of double gourd resemblance, with two bulbous bellies conjoined together, short cylindrical neck, straight open mouth, raised on slightly short splayed foot base and slightly concave. The Mille Fleur decoration, meaning the thousand flowers design first appears in the late Yongzheng period becoming extremely popular in the Qianlong and was carried on throughout the subsequent Jiaqing and Daoguang periods, usually on a gilt ground. The dense millefleurs design features naturalistic blossoming peonies, chrysanthemums, hibiscus, morning glories, roses, lotus flowers, daisies, lilies and pinks amidst an abundance of foliage, the mouth rims with gilt bands. The Lines of the drawings are clear, the light and dark shades are subtle. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed red script characters reign mark, Made In The Years Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
