A Chinese turtle and dragon jade figurine, Hongshan cultureCombined figure of a turtle and a dragon with a body made of a mighty circle with a hole in the centre. On the outer sides two dragon heads - as known from the so-called C-dragons - protruding towards the rear. The combination of two creatures is a typical feature of Hongshan jade art. So far a unique representation! Brownish to slightly greenish jade with reddish vermilion discolorations. The surface with clear signs of age. Intact. Length 24 cm. Height 5.4 cm. Weight 2.95 kg.Provenance: West German private collection GuMF, Rhine-Main area. Acquired in 1973 in Singapore from the collection of a Chinese archaeologist.Condition: II
