The company acquired notoriety and prestige, under the reign of King Louis XV, with Jean-Baptiste-Gaspard Odiot. Supplier to the Crown, Odiot will be recognized as one of the outstanding silversmiths of his time. In the first-quarter of the 19th century his grandson Jean-Baptiste-Claude Odiot, will turn the Odiot brand into the most prosperous French goldsmith's company and the most admired by the European courts of its time. He becomes one of the most illustrious silversmiths during the Empire producing highly prestigious pieces, such as the Emperor's Coronation sceptre and sword, the King of Rome cradle, Empress Marie-Louise toilet set, the Emperor's campaign set, or the large Madame Mère and Pauline Borghese, the Emperor's mother an sister respectively, silverware sets. He was succeeded by his son Charles-Nicolas Odiot, who became official supplier to King Charles X, to King Louis-Philippe and the Orleans family. Gustave Odiot, his son, maintained the House at the top of its art, carrying out the largest commission that Odiot ever received; the 3000 solid gold cutlery for the viceroy of Egypt Saïd Pasha. He was also granted the title of "Supplier to the Court of His Imperial Majesty the Tsar". The Odiot brand remains, to this day, one of the most prestigious international brands. Odiot's artworks can be found in the most important private collections and also at the most recognisable public institutions both in France and abroad, such as the Musée du Louvre, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the Mobilier National, in Paris, the Metropolitan Museum and the MoMa in New York and the Victoria & Albert and the British Museum in London.
