4th millennium BC. A large, heavy bronze axehead with two blades either side of a circular socket; one blade set vertically, the other horizontally, each with a D-shaped cutting edge. The axe adzes are by far the most common of the dual weapons (or tools"). They are characterised by having two parts: one with a cutting edge parallel to the axis of the handle and the other with perpendicular edge to the axis. The type here belongs to the Gernez classification H-HE1b and is typical of the Central Balkans region. Condition Report Fine condition.
