c.12th century BC. A mixed group comprising three bronze knives, one with single scooped edge and ring pommel; a second with tapering single-edged pointed blade and straight upper edge; a third with single-edged curved-shaped blade and rounded tip, octagonal-section handle with broad flat rear. See a similar knife in Marzatico, F. and Gleirscher, P. (ed.), Guerrieri Principi ed Eroi fra il Danubio e il Po dalla Preistoria all'Alto Medioevo, 2004, pp.180, fig.4a, 581, from the grave 1 of Landau-Wollmesheim. 132 grams total, 12.2-19cm (4 3/4 - 7 1/2"). Property of a London gallery; previously in a private UK collection; acquired in Europe in the 1980s. The small knives seems to belong to the Urnfield Culture warrior graves.
