13th-11th century BC. A restrung necklace of bronze annular beads, interspersed with tubular beads, trumpet-shaped beads, beads stamped with triangular motifs, discoid central pendant; modern clasp. For similar discoid central pendant see specimens in Terzan, B., 'An Outline of the Urnfield Culture Period in Slovenia' in 97 Arheoloki vestnik (Arh. vest.) 50, 1999, str. 97-14, fig.14 (hoard from Dragomelj"). 137 grams, 56cm (22"). Property of a London gallery; formerly in a private UK collection; acquired in Europe in the 1980s. The discoid central pendant and the bronze beads find parallels on several examples from Burg Deutschlandsberg Museum near Leibnitz, dating to the Urnfield period. Like our specimen, the Austrian example featured a large eyelet to the reverse. Condition Report Fine condition.
