1st century BC-3rd century AD. A group of four bronze artefacts comprising: a Roman swan's head with detailing to the beak, eyes and feathering on the head; a Roman button and loop fastener with ovoid body, domed centre and attachment loop, Wild's Class III; a late Iron Age or early Roman 'eye' style strap fastener or belt-slide with a figure of eight plan, domed centres to each of two cells, two small knops to reverse; an openwork piece with two tear-shaped lobes and central arm. Cf. The Portable Antiquities Scheme Database, id. LEIC-FAFDD1, for a similar swan's head described as a cart fitting; NMS-0F4D69, for similar button and loop fastening; YORYM-6773CC, for a similar Roman strap fastener; cf.
