The royal arms of England were gules, three lions passant gardant or from 1198 AD to 1340 AD and again from 1360 AD to 1369 AD; from 1340-1360 under King Edward III they were quartered with the arms of France Azure semé of fleurs de lys or and this style continued until 1395 AD.
