盖款：鞠轩
此壶秋水体，娇红潋滟，通体线条利落，过渡自然，盖内还原气氛明显，整体气质古朴，有天然风姿。鞠轩，暨菊轩，潘虔荣，顾景舟考曰：“虔荣，潘姓，字菊轩。名在《宜兴县志》长寿耄耋之列，当地砂艺老辈颇为推崇。高熙《茗壶说·赠邵大亨君》一文，亦首提其名。”顾老多方面考证后，具体推算认为，潘虔荣估计出生于乾隆二十一年（1756），并且至少在七十六岁时，尚能搏制佳器。
