龙泉窑为宋元时期中国南方最大的民间窑厂，窑址在今浙江省龙泉县，故名。始烧于北宋前期，南宋至元为其鼎盛时期。此器，兽体态健硕雄壮，昂首傲立，双目圆瞪，须盘结，头部可掀开，腹部中空，可作香熏使用，端口大张，以便香味飘散；其面相、毛发、兽爪等细节刻画栩栩如生，线条流畅精细；尊贵无比，为文房陈设之佳器。
