A bronze head with expressive face, large almond-shaped eyes and incised pupils;plex hairstyleprising a thick plait on the forehead and at the nape of the neck with the rest of the hair decorated with incised circles and rectangles; mounted on a ctom-made display stand. Cf. the British Meum, accession number 1824.4-97.1, for a votive statuette of a draped youth from Pizzirimonte near Prato with similar hairstyle. 130 grams total, 31mm high (58mm including stand) (1 1/4 ( 2 1/4)"). This is a rare archaic bronze head from a larger statuette, which are rarely seen intact.
