A black jasper gemstone with sceneposed of a large standing eagle, a human figure holding a standard, together with another possible figure, human or animal, set into a later gold ring with D-section hoop, expanding at the shoulders to an oval bezel. Cf. Chadour, A.B., Rings. The Alice and Louis Koch Collection, Leeds, 1994, items 158-159, for the ring shape. 8.30 grams, 21.43mm overall, 16.85mm internal diameter (approximate size British L 1/2, A 6, Europe 11.87, Japan 11) (1"). From the late Alison Barker collection, a retired London barrister; from her collection formed 1960s-1990s.
