1st-3rd century AD. A silver statuette modelled in the round as the god Jupiter (Greek Ze) standing robed, one hand extended holding a patera, the other held above his head, semi-naturalistic detailing to the hair and face. See Reinach, S., Repertoire de la statuarie grecque et romaine, Paris, 1930, pl.14, no.3, for the type of Ze holding a patera but seated. 34.5 grams, 60mm high (2 1/4"). Acquired in the late 1980s-early 1990s. From an important North West London collection.
