Fine 18th century carved mother of pearl box lid, possibly Chinese export, converted to a brooch, decorated in relief with representation of Salome being presented with the head of John the Baptist with tents and castle in background. The form of this panel is reminiscent of late 17th / early 18th century English needlework. Mounted in later white metal brooch mount, 6 x 7cm
