Dimensions: Length: 23 Width: 18cm, Height: 30cmChinese Ming Dynasty Jiajing Blue and White Porcelain Pot. Potted in pot shape, globular body with curve spout flanked on the mid belly outward at the short mouth rim, a looped handles flanked on the upper neck, round opening mouth with dome lid finial bud, raised with ring foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white base color which contrast against blue fine color, depicted of chief and the servant on the garden surrounded with dense tree and flowers blooms. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze greyish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design. The Under base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Jiajing Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
