A Small Chinese White Glazed Bottle Vase17th-18th Century DynastyThe compressed pear-shaped body accented by a molded line around its middle section, rises from a high foot to a long-tapered neck that flares at the mouth, the white glaze pooling at the foot rim showing a slight bluish tint and stopping at the base line to expose the unglazed foot rim burned slightly orange in the firing, the glaze then continuing onto the base exposing a second line burnt slightly orange. Height 6 1/2 inches. Note:This shape, with its compressed body, long tapered neck and flared mouth, can be seen in vases made during the late Wanli Period (1572-1620), was carried forward into the Transitional Period (1620-1683) and the start of the Qing Dynasty until the arrival of Zang Yingxuan as director of the imperial kilns at Jingdezhen in 1683.
