PROVENANCE:From St Matthew, Kentucky, Private Collectors.Measurements: Width: 5.5cm, Height: 11.5cm Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty TongZhi Alum Red Birds Pattern Porcelain Bowls. The porcelain potted with a shallow body, slight deep, thick, flaring rim with angled cavetto elevated the steep sides upward the close mouth rim, raised on ring foot base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in alum red and creme fine color, depicted of many birds hanging on the sturdy branch with abundant flowers bloom. Red is the most important variety of China’s porcelain. It was originated in the Qing Dynasty. The red color of the packet symbolizes good luck, corresponding with fire, symbolizes good fortune and joy. The Under - base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years TongZhi Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
