A LACQUERED WOOD AMIDA NYORAI AND A PAIR OF PAINTED WOOD KOMA-INU AND SHISHIMomoyama/Edo PeriodThe gilt and lacquered Amida Buddha standing on a lotus flower supported by a cloud scroll pedestal, the right hand raised inabayamudra, or 'Fear not' gesture, and a gilt double mandorla to the back; together with a pair of painted Shinto lion-dogs, modelled with fierce expressions, decorated in coloured pigments.The Amida Buddha: 25.5cm (10in) high (3).For further information on this lot please visit theCondition Report: General rub and wear, loss of gilt and pigments, nibbles to the edges.The dogs both with the tail reattached. One with a hole to one side and vertical cracks. The other with larger cracks, one of which restored.The buddha with a missing part to the front of the lingzhi stand, some other missing to the stand area and traces of glue to the back. The mandorla with part of the back cut and the base joint reattached, small holes around the border.
