Late 19th – early 20th century, probably Cushing & White, Waltham, Massachusetts. This nice example with later gilt surface showing traces of old verdigris beneath. Well modeled with good detail. Hind legs with sheet copper barbs. Vertical mounting rod in center of body with ball-and-spire finial. Note: There is no museum stand with this weathervane. SIZE: 41″ l x 20-1/2″ overall height (including spire). CONDITION: Current later surface is lifting and peeling in some areas, most notable on rear legs.
