A MANDARIN HAT, A SCHOLAR'S PLUME AND A PAIR OF MANDARIN BOOTS 19th century (4)A MANDARIN HAT, A SCHOLAR'S PLUME AND A PAIR OF MANDARIN BOOTS19th century The conical bamboo-weave summer travelling hat mounted with red-dyed horse hair issuing from a translucent blue glass finial for a third-rank official, with a tubular green and mushroom jade plume holder; together with a mandarin's single-eyed peacock feather plume with its original yellow-silk wrapping bearing the name of the shop stamped in red; and a pair of black satin Mandarin's boots piped in black and green-tinted leather above thick soles of layers of stitched cotton and leather bottoms, lined in cotton.
