A hand-carved scrimshaw powder horn, formed from the horn of an ox and engraved in pointillé technique; tand to the rim pierced for attachment of a lid or stopper; decoration arranged in three registers: first a twin-spired building with ox emerging behind, an arrow-pierced heart and foliage, second with a peacock, horseman and male genitalia, the last with profile bust of a lady, a wheel and further foliage; with an uncertain name 'E????????' and date; mounted on a custom-made display stand. 1.18 kg total, 30 cm high including stand (11 3/4 in.)
