Mitchiner, M., Medieval Pilgrim & Secular Badges, London, 1986, p.272, for type. 4.49 grams, 36 mm high (1 3/8 in.) Found Thames spoil, City of London, UK. Similar to a type originating in Italy, brought back to England by pilgrims who travelled to the shrine of Lucca (west of Florence).
