c.1450-1540 A.D. A lozengiform pilgrim's badge featuring a scene of Henry VI enthroned, wearing a cloak and holding orb and sceptre; pin to reverse. Cf. The British Museum, museum number 1891,0418.26, for similar dated c.1400-1500. 3.48 grams, 20 mm (3/4 in.) Found Thames foreshore, Billingsgate, London, UK. Henry VI was executed in 1471 and a cult grew around his grave at Chertsey Abbey. However, the shrine was moved to Windsor Castle in 1485. [No Reserve]Condition Report: Fine condition.
