MICHAEL PERCHIN FABERGE FOUNTAIN PEN. Enamelled silver barrel. Limited edition. Two-tone 18 Kts gold nib. 18 Kts gold nib. No box. Measures: 14,5 cm length, 16 mm. diameter. The model for this fountain pen is the famous Faberge Imperial Easter Egg, and more specifically the Egg with blue stripes and solid gold, a work entrusted to the legendary and brilliant goldsmith who was director of his laboratory between 1855 and 1903, a period of time in which the most beautiful creations that made Faberge famous came to light, and who was none other than Michel Perchin, from whom the brand takes its name. The body, made of solid 925 sterling silver, is delicately guilloché-worked with alternating bands, enriched with a transparent cobalt-blue enamel that reveals the guilloché below and other gold-plated bands carved and guilloché-worked with different motifs. It is made of vermeil silver, in keeping with the type of finishing applied to this beautiful jewel. The mouthpiece is also made of vermeil silver, with engraving in the form of curls alternating with smooth parts. The nib is made of 18K gold, with a platinum mask that reveals a yellow-gold-coloured border decorating the gables with plant motifs and, in the centre of the nib, the brand s anagram, an elephant with a carrying basket and "18K"; the loading system is by means of a cartridge and/or piston converter. A total of 3000 fountain pens were produced in 1995.
