En 1950, il s'installe à Annecy pour parachever une formation d'ébéniste mais il commence à peindre des toiles abstraites qui sont exposées à la Galerie Perrière. S'il ouvre un atelier de restauration de meubles anciens, il se finit par se consacrer essentiellement à la peinture dans un style figuratif et impressionniste.Born of a Ukrainian mother and a father from an old Russian family, Georges Roudneff spent his childhood in Nice where he discovered the workshops of Slavic painters. In 1950, he moved to Annecy to complete his training as a cabinetmaker, but he began to paint abstract canvases which were exhibited at the Galerie Perrière. If he opened a workshop for the restoration of antique furniture, he ended up devoting himself mainly to painting in a figurative and impressionist style.
