碧玉材质，器型硕大，色泽沉稳。如意云头状的四足微外撇，使其挺拔而又平稳。周身浮雕山川、树木和人物。画中人各具形态，栩栩如生。主画面山石处镌刻“石室藏书”四字。底款为楷书“乾隆年制”。口沿御题诗：秦拨去古文，焚灭诗书，故明堂石室金匮玉版图籍散乱，乾隆甲寅夏御题。整体充满了诗情画意，是一件陈设兼实用的文房佳器。
