A mid- to late-19th century oil on canvas after "Judith With The Head Of Holofernes" by Carlo Francesco Nuvolone (Italy, Milan, 1609-1662). Depicting Judith grasping her scimitar and the decapitated head of Assyrian general, Holofernes rendered in dramatic chiaroscuro. The original 17th century work hangs in the National Museum in Warsaw. Not signed. Frame measures H 49" x L 44".品相报告: When viewed under UV light, a minor degree of fluorescence to the lower quadrants. Along the bottom center edge is an old repair. A small tear to the canvas is noted to the lower right quadrant. Bearing old, if not original varnish.
