定窯是宋代很著名的北方窯口，燒造時間長，始於唐代中期，經過五代、北宋、金代，一直與汝窯、官窯並列，最早宋人的記載就有汝窯、官窯、定窯。定窯是宋代五大名窯裡，唯一燒造白瓷的窯口。此大碗通體施白釉，施釉均勻，釉色潔白，圓唇敞口，斜直壁，內弧腹，風格淡雅。
