12th-11th century B.C. A slender triangular-shaped spearhead with facetted neck and tapering, rectangular-section tang. See Khorasani, M.M., Arms and Armour from Iran. The Bronze Age to the End of the Qajar Period, Tübingen, 2006, s. cat 286,291, for type, and pp.244-245. 202 grams, 34 cm (13 3/8 in.). Acquired before 1972. Formerly with a central London gallery. Property of a London gentleman. Spearheads from Amarlu reveal some similarity with specimens found in Marlik and Amlash. The main characteristic is the presence of a rectangular sectioned long tang, divided into a shaft and proper tang, and angled shoulders.
