According to Gernez, most of these daggerse from Susa. A clear context is the Vase à la Cachette (2500-2400 BC) from Susa. This context partly explains the ineffective aspect of these daggers, probably intended for votive use. Another specimen, of the same date, was found at Shahdad (tomb 288).
