A silver ringposed of a carinated hoop, openwork shoulders with shell plaques, hemispherical bezel decorated with advancing felines in raised relief, set with a carnelian gemstone engraved with a hexafoil floral motif. 14.64 grams, 35.64 mm overall, 18.23 mm internal diameter ( approximate size British Q, USA 8, Europe 17.49, Japan 16) (1 3/8 in.). Acquired before 1972. Formerly with a central London gallery. Property of a London gentleman. The carnelian stone is apparently a re-purposed bead.
