Early 16th century A.D. A wooden bowl with D-section wall and shallow foot, decorative circumferential ribs to the upper body, cut-out to rim. 350 grams, 19.7 cm wide (7 3/4 in.). From Quito, Ecuador. Acquired early 1970s. Zuckerman collection, by descent from her grandparents. Produced in the period between the Inca conquest of Ecuador and the Spanish conquest of the Inca.
